La danse des vivants

August 1918. A young French officer suffering from amnesia receives violent electroshock therapy. Clearly from an upper-class background, he speaks both French and German.

The illegitimate son of an Alsatian banker who hates him, he will never find out that his name is Charles Hirscheim, because his father will pretend that he does not recognize him. However, the French security services take an interest in his case and organise his infiltration into the German army, under the name of a dead German officer.

But can you be someone else when you don’t even know who you are?
